Kaung Nyin Paung ( Streamed Sticky Rice )

  • 4 cups sticky rice
  • 4 cups black sticky rice
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 coconut
  • 1 teaspoon sesames seed
  • Fried dried fish

Soak sticky rice in water overnight and drain it. Put the sticky rice into the earthen steamer and place it on the boiling pot. Cover the steam with a piece of cheesecloth and a lid. Wrap the long strip of wet cloth around the space between the pots not to release the steam. Pound sesames seeds and salt til completely mixed. Scrape coconut with a scraper. When the steam rises from the steamer, sprinkle some water, stir it and leave it for about 15 minutes. Apply the same procedure for steaming black sticky rice. When cooked, scoop both of them onto the serving plate. Sprinkle sesame seed-salt powder over it. Garnish with scraped coconut and fried dried fish over it for serving.
