Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint visits Myin Lut Village in Angu Maw of northern Rakhine State on Tuesday. The Union Minister and party inspected paddy harvesting in the paddy field of the village. The Mechanized Farming Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is helping the paddy harvesting in Maungtaw area which are now lacking owner.
There are over 70,000 acres of paddy field in Maungtaw area, and the responsible persons are taking care of the paddy harvesting without much wastage. Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint and party also visited Kyauk Pan Du Village in Maungtaw Township. They inspected the progress of constructing the affordable housing which is being implemented by the fund of border area development. The Ministry of Border Affairs has been constructing 100 houses in the village since March this year with the budget allotment of 650 million kyats.
Later, Union Minister and party inspect the progress of constructing Kyauk Pan Du-InnDin-Zetipyin road in Angu Maw of northern Rakhine State. The road is being constructed across May Yu mountain range. It connects Maungtaw and Angu Maw, and the road is planned to build up to a smooth paved road.
The project is being implemented by Road Special Group-17 of Road Construction Group-3 under the Road Department of the Ministry of Construction. The Department is also constructing Kyein Chaung-Gopi Road that connect Maungtaw and Buthitaung over May Yu mountain range.
These projects are being implemented by spending over 8.7 billion kyats budget allotment from the emergency fund. Once these two roads were completed, the socio-economic life of ethnic nationals in Rathaetaung, Buthitaung and Mauntaw Townships will be improved.
