Systematic Repatriation: Preparations For The Repatriation Of Displaced Persons Discussed

The coordination meeting on the systematic repatriation of displaced persons was held at the Rakhine State Government Office in Sittway on Friday.

At the meeting, the deputy chairman of the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine State Dr. Win Myat Aye delivered the remarks.

The deputy chairman and union minister stressed the needs of preparations for the return of refugees to Rakhine State, Plans of systematic repatriation for the returnees which will begin from January 23rd, 2018, participation of everybody in the UEHRD, which is a union-level project as well, vital importance to address the issues and challenges in Rakhine by using correct methods and means, the importance of the cooperation of ministries, providing the necessary assistance to the government service personnel who will be working in the region.

Next, the Rakhine Chief Minister U Nyi Pu further clarified the ongoing process to carry out the projects in Rakhine State. Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Soe Aung, departmental heads and other officials gave suggestions on relevant matters during the meeting.
