Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong 3rd Session concluded on Monday with signing of 14 points relating to politics, economics, society and land and environment. Chairperson of Union Peace Conference – 21st Century Panglong central organising committee State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended the Conference.
Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee Secretary Pado Saw Kwel Htoo Win gave remarks at the event at Myanmar International Convention Center-2 in Nay Pyi Taw. 14 points relating to economic, social, land and environment and political sectors agreed by representatives of the Government, Hluttaw, Tatmadaw, the ethnic armed organizations and political parties were submitted to the Conference.
This Union Peace Conference 3rd session agreed and witnessed signing of the 14-points - four points of the political sector, 1 point of the economic sector, 7 points of the social sector and 2 points of the land and environment sector as the 2nd part of the Union Accord.
The statement on the Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong 3rd Session was read out which also stated that another peace conference session will be held this year and 2 more in 2019.
State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave words of thanks. The State Counsellor stressed that reaching agreement on 14 points is a success and step to peace, highlighting that the Peace Conference is moving forward. She also called for cooperation.
The 6-day Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong 3rd Session began on Wednesday. The Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong 2nd Session agreed 37 points on the four sectors.
